Our Projects
Lilly Foundation is steadily involved in planning and implementing broad based projects, cooperating with national and international partners.
Our aim is to intervene concretely on behalf of person’s Health as widely as possible: therefore we pay special attention to implementation of Research programs, to awareness campaigns and to social projects.
Thus, we try to contribute at many different levels to the relationship among citizens and Health: in behalf of citizen both as user of Healthcare System and as receiver and final recipient of our projects results.
In support of research
We are involved in a great number of activities in which we pay special attention to the relationship between citizens and the National Healthcare System. In this context, we believe that scientific research plays an essential role: as research means innovation and tendency to improve. Investing in research is a long term investment where future well-being is the result of today's efforts.
In social framework
As well as being involved in research, we also conduct projects within the social framework, with the purpose of raising awareness and of informing people on health related aspects, which we consider significant on a global level. The Lilly Endowment Foundation and the Lilly Foundation promote broad projects together with institutional partners such as the International Diabetes Federation, the World Health Organization and the International Red Cross, in order to help poor people across the world through research and knowledge and transfer of technologies as well as actual aid for highly debilitating diseases such as tuberculosis and diabetes.
In health policy
According to the growing role that Health plays as an essential component of the social welfare and as important component of public expenditure, it is essential to have the means to tackle the problems of efficiency and effectiveness that it has to face.
We are convinced that to ensure to citizen a high level of benefits, it is necessary to intervene effectively on health policy by creating culture in this field.
